Life at Highlands Rest

Highlands Rest is a historic farm in the Blue Ridge Mountains outside Roseland, Virginia. We raise Scottish Highland cattle in both miniature and mid-size, along with miniature Mediterranean donkeys and a small loft of racing homer pigeons. Every animal here has a name, a job, and a place in the family.

The farm is family-run and led by a veterinarian, so husbandry comes first: pasture-raised animals, careful genetics, and honest records. Each animal's health results, pedigree, and history live right on this site, kept current from the same records we use to run the farm each day.
